why a 17th Century map can help us plan for the end of this recession

There’s a story here.  It has to do with what EVERYONE knows to be true, to be commonsensical.  What EVERYONE knows to be the best reaction to this severe recession.

Do Nothing New.

Hunker down.  Lay off workers in anticipation of even worse times.  Do what’s worked in the past and for God’s sake, stay away from anything new or untested.

All this makes sense to just about everyone.  To put it a little more poetically, these are our mental maps of the current business world.

which is a segue to the story you can see at:  http://www.screencast.com/t/ZVzAjoZeJ
