these times are just too damned hard – I’m doing nothing new

Business contacts are telling me similar stories: it’s too tough a market to sell in, and because it’s so damned hard, they’re — somehow — planning on retreating to safe, predictable (if boring) lines of business.

Others, precious few, are seeing these times as opportunities for those that get it right.

I mentioned this at a panel discussion the other day and was met by a chorus of comments along the line, “you’re crazy .. I’m supposed to try something NEW and almost certainly fall on my corporate face?”

I was tempted to repeat a line I still tell my daughter, but since CEOs of multimillion dollar mid-range companies don’t take kindly to little wisdom nuggets, I found  the following on YouTube:

  1. You should add to your Blogroll. This is a long established and great business for sale site that connects business buyers, sellers and lenders. Best of all, the site is completely FREE!
